We are experiencing our first really cold weather of the winter season. As I write this the wind chill is zero and there is a light dusting of snow on the ground. With the cold weather we will be switching our focus from fall fieldwork to the "winter jobs" that we do around the farm. The good weather that we had this fall let us do more work than we had planned on doing. This week we will try to finalize our 2011 cropping plans and make sure that we have all of the seed that we want ordered. We will also start the end of the year paperwork and probably start to empty some corn from some of the grain bins.
This time of year also brings a lot of activities with the kids and family. The three boys all have their christmas programs this week, and we still have to make a trip to see Santa so the boys can tell him what is on their lists. This past weekend we also had Ella's baptism and celebrated with family at our house on Saturday night.
